It has been said that carpeting and rugs not only add warmth to a home, but convey your personal style as well.
As the durability and beauty of a hand-crafted suit or dress has everything to do with the skill of the tailor or seamstress, the skillful, knowledgeable expert installer from ABC Decorative Rugs can enhance your carpet's values.
Here are some important things to keep in mind:
Before our installer arrives, be sure to remove all the furniture in the room. If you'd like our installers to do the heavy lifting, let us know ahead of time so we can set aside time and agree upon an appropriate fee.
If you're remodeling or painting the room, arrange to have the new carpet installed after all the work after all the work is done.
Before our people arrive, make sure the room is clean. Existing carpets should be thoroughly vacuumed or removed beforehand. If you would like our people to remove the old carpets, please let us know beforehand. Our fees to remove old wall-to-wall carpeting are quite modest.
As a rule, our installers will locate seams in less visible areas of the room. Sometimes this is not possible. On occasion, a seam my be slightly visible to someone who knows where to look for it.
During Installation our installer may remove doors and re-hang them. Should the new carpets impede the action of existing doors, a carpenter can trim the bottoms of the doors.
After Installation vacuum your carpet to remove all loose fibers.
Make sure the room is well ventilated for two to three days. By then, the new carpet smell will have dissipated.
If you are unusually sensitive to odors or allergy-prone, you may want to avoid the room for a few days.
Should you notice that your new carpet is:
SHEDDING: vacuum-up the loose fibers. Shedding should end in a month or two.
SPROUTING: clip off any tuft extends beyond the carpet surface DO NOT PULL IT OUT.
PILE REVERSAL OR SHADING: Don't be alarmed if the color of the carpet seems to change or fade, depending on where you are standing in the room Plush carpets bend in many directions, which causes the fibers to absorb and reflect light unevenly.
WRINKLING: Usually minor wrinkles and ripples will quickly settle into place. If they persist, call us and we'll re-stretch the carpet.
